After 55 years serving the America's composites industry, JEC further expands its world-class services, support and expertise in the region

JEC, the World’s Oldest, Largest Composites Organization, Underscores Commitment to the Americas with New JEC Americas Composites Conference & Show this November in Boston.

Already a world-renowned source of composites industry services, support and expertise spanning 55 years in the Americas, JEC Composites will further expand its offerings in the region this fall with the opening of its inaugural JEC Americas Composites Show & Conferences at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Nov. 7 – 9, 2012. This much-anticipated event will provide a premiere venue for composites designers, manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their technologies, expand their expertise, network with a wide array of composites industry professionals and gain a competitive edge in the Americas - a region that represents the largest worldwide composites market, totaling $34 billion in revenues.

With an increasing global network connecting over 250,000 composites industry professionals, JEC represents, promotes and helps to grow composites markets - such as transportation, automotive, building and construction, marine, consumer goods, aviation/aerospace and wind energy - by providing networking and world-class information services.

With 55 years of analysis and networking in this region supported in the last two decades by internet media and a well-established magazine with 32,117 BPA-qualified subscribers (7,750 of them in the Americas), and with the continuing success of the globally renowned JEC Europe Composites Show & Conferences (47th session in 2012), which is today four times larger than any other composites exhibition in the world, and with the JEC Asia Composites Show & Conferences (5th edition in 2012), the largest global composites conference hosted in and targeting the Asia-Pacific & Middle East market, composites industry professionals asked JEC Group to develop in the Americas a new Composites Show and Conferences program where the whole value chain of the composites industry could meet and network. Every application sector and related services will be represented at the November event.

“The Americas are a key strategic market for the global composites supply chain,” said Frédérique Mutel, JEC’s president and chief executive officer. “The American composites sector represents 36 percent of worldwide revenues, compared to 33 percent for the Europe/Middle-East/Africa market, and 31 percent for the rest of the world including all of Asia. JEC Americas will provide a much needed venue for composites professionals in the Americas and worldwide to meet, discuss and forge new opportunities in this vibrant and fast-growing geography.”

In view of North America’s educational and scientific landscape, the conference will include a large Education & Skills Village that will host around 30 universities, composites and advanced materials organizations, academic groups, market associations and scientific centers, such as the National Composites Center.

One of JEC’s missions is the transference of knowledge within the composites community. Hence, JEC Americas will also provide a stage for the Sixth Innovative Composites Summit (I.C.S.), a program of strategic and technical conferences and forums with a proven record of delivering high value content at JEC’s European and Asian events.

In Boston, separate I.C.S. sessions will explore bio-composites, automotive (in partnership with the Society of Plastics Engineers), automation, aerospace, wind energy, carbon, building and construction and other topics. A preliminary program will be available by the end of June.

Innovation is the key to JEC’s activities, and the JEC Innovation Awards program will arrive in America this November to honor the best new products, processes and applications in the composites industry. This highly acclaimed program has already rewarded more than 700 companies and their partners throughout the world at ceremonies in Paris, Shanghai, Mumbai, Singapore and soon Boston. The winners and the laureates will exhibit
their best composites solution at the Innovation Showcase during JEC Americas 2012.

The JEC Americas Composites Show will also bring JEC’s expertise on value-added services, such as the Business Meetings Program – which arranges meetings with pre-selected companies – or the Job Center, where visitors and exhibitors can post job offers and résumés.

JEC Americas will also offer targeted opportunities for composites professionals interested in industrial textiles by co-locating its Boston conference with the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) Expo Americas 2012, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Like JEC, IFAI is the leading trade organization in its sector. Both events could attract 400 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors. By the end of May 2012, 250 exhibitors had already registered booth space with JEC Americas.

The JEC Group chose Boston to host JEC Americas 2012, not only for the city’s accessibility between North America’s West Coast, Europe and Latin America, but also because it is a global hub for high-tech industry and offers excellent infrastructures and affordable accommodations. Moreover, the greater Boston area is one of the world’s greatest concentrations of top universities.
