A sensory experience to publicize Composite materials to Designers and General public
Next March 10-12, 2015, at the occasion of JEC Europe Composites Show and Conferences 2015, JEC Group introduces a brand new and exclusive program named “Composites for better living©”. The program will provide Information and Networking with an exposition and a conference. The expo will take place on a spectacular 650sqm area designed by Francesco Giganti. It addresses the concepts of lightweight and material reduction coupled with mechanical resistance and flexibility that are the essential characteristic of Composite materials. A composite material is a blend of at least two immiscible components. The new material thus formed has properties that the only components do not have.
“This program aims at enlightening the qualities of composites for Designers, Architects and Artists. The astonishing radiant expo will offer a multi-sensory experience that will engage the use of Sight, Smell, Touch and Hearing” says Mrs. Frédérique Mutel, JEC Group President and CEO. “Thanks to this pioneering exhibition, Composites will break with their commonly accepted label that isolated them to industries such as Aerospace, Marine, Automotive or Building & Construction. They will be showcased in broader and wider fields, some of them unexpected and surprising, where they can fully bring their unique assets to create innovative products that will improve everyday life,” adds Mrs. Mutel. Around 50 creative products will be displayed such as a bus shelter by Decaux, luggage by Delsey, rackets by Artengo, a bike and a skateboard made of flax by Inbo or again furniture made of glass and carbon fibers by Vitra.
This new program addresses a new generation of designers. The conference “Designing with composites…for a better living” is organized in partnership with Professor Ignaas Verpoest from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 10 am in the VIP Lounge of JEC Europe 2015 (Paris Porte de Versailles, Pavilion 7).
