Renewable Energies Trade Exhibition

2005 has placed renewable energies at the centre of French and international issues. Significant progress has been made in terms of political decisions and regulations, opening new perspectives for this booming industry.

France has confirmed its commitment towards combating global warming. The decree adopted in July 2005, and the success encountered by the tax incentives, are strong indicators of an in–depth change.

2006 will bring further developments: energy saving certificates, extension of the regulations,
new technical norms (RT 2005) for the construction industry, etc. Given this highly favourable context, the RENEWABLE ENERGIES TRADE EXHIBITION, first created in Lyons in 2001, adopts an annual rhythm and will be held alternately in Lyons and Paris. The first edition to be held in Paris will take place at ParisExpo, Porte de Versailles, from 15 th to 17 th June 2006.

With 116 exhibitors, 75% being international exhibitors, 17500 professional visitors and 3380 private visitors, 600 participants at the European conferences for its 2005 edition, the Renewable Energies Trade Exhibition has become a reference event for the different sectors of renewable energies: thermal solar, solar photovoltaic, timber energy, wind turbines, geothermal, small scale hydraulic, biogas, biofuels, HQE.

The economic and political context is constantly evolving, and the demand for information and new solutions on behalf of private users, deciders and installers is high. The market is growing rapidly and the pace of innovation is fast. As a result, Sepelcom, the organiser of the exhibition, has decided to turn the event into an annual meeting that will take place alternately in Lyons and Paris.

The partners to the event have confirmed their support, in particular ADEME and the French Professional Association for Renewable Energies (Syndicat des énergies renouvelables). The latter will hold its annual convention on June 15 th as part of the trade exhibition.

The Professional Association will also be the main contributor to the theme conferences that will be held during the event concerning topical issues.  100 exhibitors are expected for this first Parisian edition of the event that will take place at ParisExpo from 15 th to 17 th , June 2006. Equipment and material manufacturers, installers, designers, retailers and specialised fitters,
professional bodies, and energy suppliers will present the latest innovations in the sector. On this occasion, the exhibition will encompass energy control in the building industry and biofuels
for transportation.

Over 25 000 professional visitors are expected: installers, airconditioning and heating companies, decisionmakers (architects, designers, R&D, building planners), public contracting authorities (local communities, council housing [HLM], hospitals), private contracting authorities (investors, property developers, industrial players, building contractors, real estate, hotel industry), energy producers and suppliers.

In order to satisfy the increasing demand on behalf of private individuals regarding concrete and proven solutions for the use of renewable energies in their homes, the trade exhibition will also be open to them for one and a half days, during which they will be able to enquire with the professionals present at the event.
