Functional Fillers 2008
The 11th annual Functional Fillers 2008 is set for September 22 – 24 2008 in Atlanta, US.
This three day intensive conference will address business and technical developments in the functional fillers and composites industry and will focus on nanofillers and composites, trends, manufacturing methods, applications, regulatory issues, and much more.
IntertechPira’s 16th annual Functional Fillers conference will address the market, technological applications and environmental aspects of functional fillers and composites through interactive presentations, question and answer sessions and panel discussions. Hosted breaks, luncheons and receptions for its speakers, registrants, and exhibitors offer ample opportunity to discuss and address the recent business, technical and application developments in the functional fillers and composites field.
With 75 – 100 industry experts, 20 speakers, two pre-conference seminars and a plant tour, Functional Fillers 2008 is a leading forum for delegates to network with industry leaders and learn about the latest technologies and strategies in functional fillers and composites.
Stabilization Technologies and Lehigh Technologies to participate in a joint presentation on green and recycled tire rubber and powder at IntertechPira’s Functional Fillers for Plastics 2008 conference.
As the last presentation on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Wyndham Midtown Atlanta Hotel in Atlanta, GA, US, Stabilization Technologies and Lehigh Technologies will present on new developmental trends in recycled tire rubber technology and will discuss the carbon footprint of recycled tires, new technologies of cryogenic grinding, odor mediation in various mediums and the expanded use of recycled tires.
Co-Chaired by Chris DeArmitt of Hybrid Plastics Inc and Roger Rothon of Rothon Consultants, Functional Fillers for Plastics 2008 will offer a comprehensive overview of the latest business and technological aspects of the fillers industry. Session breakout topics include materials, technology, methods, applications, nanofillers and sustainability and the environment with presenters from Imerys Performance Minerals, Omya, JM Huber, NIST, Kline & Co and Evonik Degussa to be featured during the two day event.
Two pre-conference seminars will start the week with Chris DeArmitt of Hybrid Plastics leading the first seminar – Filled Plastics: Basic and Advanced. The seminar will begin with the basics of filled plastics and topics will be explained in clear terms with a conscious avoidance of complex theory and mathematics. By the end, all major aspects of composite technology will be explored.
The second seminar – Fire Retardant Fillers led by Giovanni Camino of Polytechnic of Torino will feature a discussion on key market trends and drivers, including the primary and secondary flame retardants as well as recycling, regulatory issues and impact and the use of principle minerals in flame retardants.
