Composites enable the construction of safe automobiles, aircrafts with high range, and extremely light machine components. With this material class the refurbishment of buildings and bridges as well as the manufacturing of medical implants can be accomplished. Composites contribute decisively to the sustainable development in our society. On the basis of this vision we develop technical applications and potential applications of composites, offering material, process, and product development up to the support of pilot series from one source.

This year's kolloquium on September 16 and 17, 2008 will cover subjects like innovative material development, design of composites structures, methods of simulation, modern manufacturing technologies, and joining methods.
