The Composites Design and Manufacturing HUB (cdmHUB.org) is a collaborative web interface platform designed to enhance and build synergies among the composite community by enabling users to interact 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The platform was developed to host the simulation tools needed to: advance composite materials design, certify product integrity, simulate manufacturing solutions, and accelerate the talent base of composite materials developers and users. The cdmHUB will showcase emerging simulation tools, evaluate existing and emerging simulation tools and host simulation challenges to educate and unify the composites community in the best practices use of composites simulation tools.
The aim of the Stellar project is to develop the manufacturing process for high-speed placement of carbon, glass and polymer fibre reinforced matrices, in selected locations in a composite structure, to provide the optimum reinforcement, weight and cost profile within a part.
Versarien, the advanced engineering materials group, announces that it has agreed terms to form a 50:50 joint venture with Dimar, a tungsten carbide tool manufacturer based in Israel, to distribute a new range of tooling for the composites industry.
