3TEX introduced texturized fabric
3TEX is now manufacturing its standard 3WEAVE™ Eglass material with a texturized surface option. The mat-like finish on one side of the fabric improves bonding between plies and surface finish.
The new 3WEAVE™ products with a texturized finish are designated as 2209, 5310,
and 7415. They can be used in both open and closed molding processes.
“In response to customer input, we have added a line of texturized finishes on three of
our most popular weights of 3WEAVE™,” said Bob Schartow, Director of Specialty
Products at 3TEX. “The texturized surface will eliminate the need to add a layer of mat
in the building process. By eliminating a mat layer, builders can reduce the number of
plies, saving labor costs. Since our 3WEAVE™ products infuse readily and have higher
glass to resin ratios than legacy two dimensional products, this new 3WEAVE™ can
reduce resin costs as well as deliver a stronger product.”
