New vinyl ester resin for marine and spa applications

Reichhold has introduced a new low-styrene, 100% vinyl ester resin, Hydrex® 100-LV (33600 series), for boat building and spa applications.
Boat builders and spa manufacturers will find that this resin provides excellent blister resistance while helping them meet MACT regulations. Spa manufacturers will find that Hydrex 100-LV provides excellent bonding to acrylic.
Hydrex 100-LV (33600) is pre-accelerated, thixed and cures with standard methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP-9).
Customers requiring a 100% vinyl ester for skin-coating applications in either boat building, personal watercraft or whirlpool spa applications will find that Hydrex 100-LV (33600) meets or exceeds those needs.
With a styrene level of less than 35%, it is MACT-compliant. Its high-performance makes this vinyl ester resin an ideal choice for marine use.
This resin boasts a low viscosity with a low-styrene chemical composition. This low viscosity, outstanding physical properties and all around toughness make it suitable for a wide variety of FRP production applications allowing for high production rates at room temperature.
Applications for Hydrex 100-LV (33600) include:
• Marine Skin Coats
• Complete Laminates
• Spa Skin Coats / Laminates
• Tooling
