Arburg represented by trading partner in Vietnam

On 1 July, the newly sealed partnership between Arburg and Edstachem (M) Sdn Bhd was made official: The Malaysia-based holding company will assume comprehensive sales and service activities for the Lossburg injection moulding machine manufacturer via its two subsidiaries in Vietnam. Following a verbal agreement reached at the Chinaplas in Guangzhou, David Chan, Arburg Subsidiary Manager in Singapore, and Heng Wei Chaur, responsible for Vietnam at Edstachem, have now penned a formal contract.
Arburg is extremely pleased about the conclusion of this contract as Vietnam is a highly interesting, albeit demanding market to develop.
Trading partners with extensive Vietnamese experience
The two Vietnamese subsidiaries of the Malaysian Edstachem holding company, EDS (Hanoi) and SED (Ho Chi Minh City), will represent Arburg in the North and South of the country respectively. Two employees will receive comprehensive training on the Arburg machines for this purpose. Owing to the geographic, political and economic particularities of the country, it is important for Arburg that this trading partnership has been entered into with a company boasting more than ten years of experience in Vietnam. Owing to their optimum structure, the two subsidiaries at the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City locations are flexible, can act quickly and maintain excellent networks within the country.
Vietnam – an emerging market
Vietnam is growing relatively unnoticed in the shadows of the powerful giant, China. Costs here are significantly lower than in China. However, there are currently few high-end sector customers based in the country. Arburg has been supplying these customers with machines for over ten years. With this trading partnership, on-site service is now also being intensified. Arburg is now the first reputable injection moulding machine manufacturer with a presence via representations in Vietnam.
About Arburg
Arburg, a German machine construction company, is one of the leading global manufacturers of injection moulding machines for plastics processing with clamping forces between 125 kN and 5,000 kN. Fields of application include the production of plastic parts for motor vehicles, communications and consumer electronics, medical technology, domestic appliances and packaging. The product range is completed by robotic systems, complex projects and other peripherals. Arburg’s operations are coordinated by an integrated management system and are DIN EN ISO 9001 and 14001 certified. With locations in more than 20 countries worldwide and more than 30 international trading partners, ARBURG has a worldwide sales and service network. Some 2,000 employees share in Arburg’s success worldwide. Production is carried out by more than 1,680 employees, exclusively in the parent factory in Lossburg (Germany). Around 330 further employees work at the 23 subsidiaries and representative offices.
In 2006, Arburg celebrated “50 years of ARBURG injection moulding machines”.
