CCC 2008 - Composites in Construction Conferences

© CCC2008 Organizing Committee
Organised by the FEUP (University of Porto), the next CCC - Composites in Construction Conferences - will be held in Porto, Portugal from 16 to 18 April 2008.
"Conceived in Porto - Portugal (10-12th October 2001), the CCC Composites in Construction Conferences moved to Rende - Italy (16-19th September 2003) and, finally, to Lyon - France (11-13th July 2005). Thinking about the Future, CCC gets the designation of Challenges for Civil Construction in order to give opportunity for new exigencies and innovative proposals in this so important industry for the human being.
The aim of CCC 2008 is promoting Industry participation and bridging the gap with Science, i. e. put science on the service of solving real industrial problems.
The Conference provides a forum to exchange views and discussion of Innovative Solutions for New Constructions and the Upgrading of the built Patrimony, Health Monitoring, and new and improved Design Tools.
The following keynote lectures are confirmed:
- Frieder Seible (University of California, USA):
"Safety of the New San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge”
- Christian U. Grosse (University of Stuttgart, Germany):
“Monitoring of Structures Using Wireless Sensors and Acoustic Emission Techniques”
- Pedro Pacheco (University of Porto, Portugal):
“Movable Scaffolding Systems Strengthened with Organic Prestressing”
- Michael Edén (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden):
“Design for Sustainable Building. A Swedish Perspective”
About 150 to 200 delegates are expected.
