Wittmann to take over Battenfeld
On 01 April 2008 the Austrian Wittmann Group will take over Battenfeld Kunststoffmaschinen Ges.m.b.H., which has become insolvent. After closing on 31 March 2008, the headquarters and production location Kottingbrunn, the worldwide sales subsidiaries, the German customer service company and the previously independent Service Unit will belong to Wittmann.
Following the consent of the board of creditors and subject to an inspection in accordance with the anti-trust laws, the Austrian manufacturer of injection moulding machines Battenfeld will in future be part of the Wittmann Group, which has its headquarters in Vienna.
Wittmann is a global manufacturer of a comprehensive and innovative range of peripheral devices for the plastics industry. This range includes robots and automation equipment, automatic material supply and drying plus recycling of the plastics, and tool tempering and cooling.
This means that in future Battenfeld and Wittmann together will be the first company in the world which is able to offer a fully-integrated product range for injection moulding. With the new owner Battenfeld can look forward to a positive future and can successfully maintain and expand its customer relationships which are planned for the long term. Battenfeld and Wittmann together employ more than 1,500 employees worldwide.
Both companies will continue to offer their products and services separately on the world market: “The integration of both companies leads to significant advantages for our customers and we are sure to enlarge our worldwide market position in progress,” say the owners Dr. Werner Wittmann and Georg Tinschert in union.
