IDI forms metals conversion project support team
IDI Composites International has formed a Metals Conversion Project Support Team at their headquarters in Noblesville, Indiana, as announced on March 20, 2008. The team is dedicated to helping molders and OEMs identify new and existing applications that will gain performance advantages and higher manufacturing efficiency from the conversion of traditional metals to high-performance thermoset compounds. The team will also provide support to current customers with their existing and future metals conversion projects. The new team is spearheaded by IDI’s Paul Rhodes, Vice President of Marketing, and Gary Littell, Application Development Engineer.
IDI Composites is one of the leading manufacturers of thermoset bulk molding compound (BMC) and sheet molding compound (SMC) and it has successfully converted many aluminum and zinc die cast parts and cast iron parts to these thermoset composite materials. IDI has a long history of proven results, which includes providing customers with cost savings, higher efficiency, and superior performance.
The formation of this team reflects IDI’s commitment to educating customers on the special properties of thermoset compounds that allow them to meet the demanding requirements of high-performance environments, while offering lower cost and lighter weight than traditional metals.
Paul Rhodes and Gary Littell both come to the team with a strong chemistry background and decades of experience with thermoset composite applications. Mr. Rhodes has worked with IDI Composites for more than 20 years; Mr. Littell has worked with the company for 10 years.
