Nippon Graphite Fiber Corporation increases its pitch-based carbon fibres capacity
Nippon Graphite Fiber Corporation, one of the major manufacturers of pitch-based carbon fibres in the world, increases its production capacity at their main plant at Himeji in Japan.
This increase will lead to a new total capacity of 180 t/year of these carbon fibres. Sold under the brand name of Granoc, the NGF fibres are used for very varied applications, ranging from satellite components, sports goods such as golf clubs, fishing rods and bicycle, and industrial rollers for the paper and printing industries. This last area is the one which is growing fastest, the use of fibres in such rollers leading to much lighter weights compared to steel and aluminium, and thus notable energy savings.
As every year, Nippon Graphite Fiber Corporation will again be exhibiting this year at the Composites Exhibition (JEC) from April 1st to 3rd in Paris, France on the stand Q23.
About Nippon Graphite Fiber Corporation
