DuPont Engineering Polymers announces price increases
DuPont Engineering Polymers announced on April 9, 2008 price increases for thermoplastic resins effective 1 May 2008, or as contracts allow, in Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
Prices for standard thermoplastic resin grades will increase as follows:
• DuPont™ Zytel® nylon, DuPont™ Minlon®, DuPont™ Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamide and DuPont™ Thermx® high-performance polyester products will increase 0.15 €/kg.;
• DuPont™ Crastin® PBT, DuPont™ Rynite® PET and DuPont™ Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer products will increase 0.10 €/kg.;
Specialty grades and colours in all thermoplastic product families will increase by a larger amount.
DuPont strives continuously to offset escalating costs with productivity programs and other containment measures. However, the magnitude of the increases for raw materials, such as unprecedented increases in ammonia and continued escalation of other materials derived from oil and natural gas, make these price increases unavoidable.
About DuPont Engineering Polymers
The DuPont Engineering Polymers business manufactures and sells Crastin® PBT and Rynite® PET thermoplastic polyester resins, Delrin® acetal resins, Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers, DuPont™ ETPV engineering thermoplastic vulcanizates, Minlon® mineral-reinforced nylon resins, Thermx® PCT polycyclohexylene dimethylterephthalates, Tynex® nylon filaments, Vespel® parts and shapes, Zenite® liquid crystal polymers and Zytel® nylon resins and Zytel® HTN high-performance polyamides. These products serve global markets in the aerospace, appliance, automotive, consumer, electrical, electronic, healthcare, industrial, sporting goods and many other diversified industries.
