RocTool: a new License agreement with the German Institute IVW
RocTool, the technology specialists for the moulding of composite materials announced the signing of a license agreement with the German Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe Gmbh (IVW).
This Institute is a German reference, notably within composite materials research, advanced moulding methods and new applications.
The signed agreement has a 5 year duration, which is a non exclusive license with the Cage System® technology to develop LCM « Liquid Composite Moulding » procedures and notably the new RTM « Resin Transfer Moulding » procedure especially adapted for thermoplastics.
The partners plan to install a trial and demonstration platform at IVW headquarters by the end of 2008. This platform’s goal is to develop and demonstrate that the Cage System® can significantly reduce time and production costs as aimed in this agreement.
This license agreement, which is an « upfront payment, allows RocTool to progress the technical plan of the Cage System® procedure, thanks to numerous tests which will take place in the coming five years. Lastly, this license allows RocTool to benefit from an increased visibility with scientists and German industrialists.
RocTool pursues its strategy of placing its technology in the leading Composite Material countries. So far, six demonstration platforms are available, two at RocTool’s French headquarters, one in Japan, one in Holland and others will be installed during 2008 at the Cromep site and at IVW in Germany. RocTool foresees in the short term, a pilot demonstration in the USA.
