Zyvex to collaborate with Lockheed Martin
Zyvex Performance Materials announced on July 9, 2008, an agreement with Lockheed Martin for nano-enhanced composite materials. The cooperation agreement between Lockheed Martin and Zyvex Performance Materials provides opportunities to expand the capabilities and performance of nanomaterials and their applications.
“We are very excited to be working with Lockheed Martin to further develop our
technology, and offer their customers improved products to help them achieve their
most challenging goals,” says Lance Criscuolo, President of Zyvex Performance
Materials. “By combining efforts with Lockheed Martin, we will be able to accelerate the
performance of our materials and integrate them into a variety of commercial
applications.”
“Lockheed Martin is proud to enter into this collaboration with Zyvex,” said Brad Pietras,
Director of Nanotechnology Programs at Lockheed Martin. “We look forward to
incorporating Zyvex Performance Materials’ technology into products and services that
are important to national security.”
About Lockheed Martin
Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 140,000 people
worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development,
manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products
and services. The corporation reported 2007 sales of $41.9 billion.
About Zyvex Performance Materials
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Zyvex Performance Materials Inc., was spun out of Zyvex
Corporation in April 2007. Zyvex Performance Materials is focused on developing
nanotechnology to improve the properties of composite materials. The company’s
patented technology allows composites to take advantage of the superior physical and
chemical properties of carbon nanotubes by enabling the even dispersion of carbon
nanotubes in composites mixtures. According to the company, Zyvex Performance Materials was the first company to provide carbon nanotube enhanced products to the marketplace.
