Wear resistant compounds
PolyOne Corporation, a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services, and solutions introduces its newly rebranded LubriOneTM Wear Resistant Compounds. These materials are now available globally under the LubriOne brand name, as announced on July 11, 2008.
LubriOne compounds, which combine the unique benefits of internal lubricants with a wide array of reinforcements and base engineering resins, are self-lubricating, offering low coefficient friction and improved wear resistance properties. Other benefits include reduced noise and vibration, easier processing, lower power requirements, reduced weight, design flexibility and lower cost compared with machine compounds. PolyOne offers a well-defined product line, and is also able to compound application-specific solutions without limitation on raw material type.
“LubriOne is another example of PolyOne’s ability to supply specialized materials, services and solutions globally,” commented Bernard Baert, senior vice president and general manager, International Colors and Engineered Materials, Europe and Asia. “Our customers benefit from the latest developments in polymer technology, worldwide supply chain consistency, and our emphasis on rapid turnaround.”
“This expanded offering under the LubriOne brand name strengthens PolyOne’s global footprint and reaffirms our commitment to specialization,” said Craig Nikrant, vice president and general manager of Specialty Engineered Materials for PolyOne. “We will continue to tailor our products and services to meet the unique needs of our growing global customer base.”
LubriOne compounds are used in a wide variety of industries, including transportation, healthcare, appliance, and electrical and electronic. Applications range from fuel pumps and drug-metering pumps to automated teller machines, paper shredders and printer gears.
