EuCIA appoints a new General Manager and confirms its President

During the General Assembly held in Brussels on June 9th, EuCIA, the Brussels based Association on the European composites industry named Alisa De Backer (28) as the new EuCIA General Manager, effective 9 June 2009. She succeeded Ab Kasper, General Manager of EuCIA and veteran with over 35 years experience in the industry, who retired from this position.

Alisa joined the Composite Organisation in October 2008 and has been employed as Project Manager since then. Alisa has well founded knowledge in EU affairs, is well experienced in corporate communications and knows the dynamics of the chemical industry.
Ab Kasper, noted: “For the Iast two years I have worked for EuCIA with much pleasure and I am happy to pass this task to my successor. I am very proud that Alisa De Backer will take over my responsibilities as General Manager. She is talented, vivid and has the right feeling for the Composite Industry.”

The General Assembly reelected Volker Fritz as EuCIA President for another 3 years. The EuCIA Board composition 2009 – 2012 is the following : Jean Pierre de Lary (French Nat. Assoc. GPIC) , Enrique Diaz ( Spanish Nat. Assoc. AESICOM), Paal Fischenich (Norwegian Nat. Assoc.NKF), Eric Moussiaux, Jan Verhaeghe (Treasurer), Dominique Vincent (UPR Group) and Elmar Witten ( German Nat. Assoc. AVK/ EPTA).

The President welcomed Roberto Frassine (Italian Nat. Assoc. ASSOCOMPOSITI) as new Board Member. President of Assocompositi and Professor of Materials Engineering and Polymeric Materials at the Milan Polytechnic – Roberto Frassine - is well known in the Italian industry since many years.
