Gibson/Jushi environmental stewardship program
Ron Adams, Vice President of Technical Sales for Gibson Fiberglass, will present information regarding Gibson/Jushi’s Environmental Stewardship programs to the Composites Media on Wednesday, February 10, at 10:30 am in Mandalay Bay North Convention Center Mariners B Room (next to ACMA Press Room). The presentation will include data related to energy reduction, water reclamation, emission reductions, and the elimination of post industrial fiberglass waste.
For example, the Jushi manufacturing facilities saved the equivalent of 66,000 tons of standard coal in 2008. This not only saves natural resources but reduces particulate emissions and solid waste associated with coal fired electrical generating plants.
“As with other major industrial countries in the world, China is working to improve air and water quality and reduce waste from manufacturing,” according to Adams. “Gibson/Jushi has received awards from the Chinese government, recognizing Gibson/Jushi’s efforts to significantly reduce our environmental footprint, and impact on the environment.”
Mr. Zhang Yuqiang, CEO of Jushi Group has stated, “If the company cannot eliminate pollution, then pollution will eliminate the company.” This philosophy has lead to state of the art fiberglass reinforcement manufacturing facilities and processes aimed at reducing our environmental footprint. The presentation will review the results of the efforts of Gibson/Jushi to manufacture our new E6 Enhanced Glass Fibers® with the lowest environmental impact achievable with today’s available technology.
