HyperSizer couples automatically to FEA such as NASTRAN for system level trade studies & structural component margin-of-safety reporting, while reducing engineering time & effort. The software solves detailed mechanical & thermal stresses! /strains for metallic & composite materials, performs detailed failure analysis of panels, beams, joints.

Composite failure analyses are available for traditional quadratic and ply theories, a fiber/matrix micromechanics approach, & laminate AML damage tolerance design curve allowables. Flat & curved panel buckling, local buckling, crippling, & beam-column stiffened panel, honeycomb sandwich analyses. BJSFM bolted hole & fully anisotropic multiaxially loaded bonded joint analyses. 19 failure criteria for peel & interlaminar stresses that cause delamination & adhesive debonding.

For bonded joint damage tolerance, a Strain Energy Release Rate (SERR) calculation via the Virtual Crack Closure Technique (VCCT) for rapid preliminary design. Composite failure analyses validated to the World Wide Failure Exercises (WWFE).
