Concordia Manufacturing, LLC (d.b.a. Concordia Fibers) pioneered the development of commingling carbon fibre with thermoplastic fibres to produce flexible thermoplastic prepregs for use in advanced thermoplastic composites. Concordia’s PEEK, PPS, and PEI commingled yarns have been used in a variety of aerospace applications. Nylon commingled yarns have been used in a variety of consumer products including tennis racquets, bike frames, and hockey sticks. Concordia has specialized in the development of engineered yarns for technical fabrics since 1920. Other applications include twisted carbon fibre for 3D woven preforms, conductive fibres for anti-static fabrics; PFTE fibres for greaseless bearings; and a variety of other yarns for products such as industrial sewing threads, filtration media, air bags, and parachute cords.
