Hanyang structure and composites laboratory (HSCL) is specialized in durability analysis and design optimization of composite structures. The director, prof. Sung Kyu Ha, is a renowned scholar with 30-year experience in both academia and industries of composites, as well as a key member of stanford composite design team. with more than 15 graduate students from 4 countries, HSCL has being working on innovative design of variothem composite structures, including hub and rotor in flywheel energy storage system, blade for large scale wind turbine, mast and rigging system for yacht. HSCL is also focusing on development of micromechanics-based multi-scale static strength/fatigue life prediction methodology for composites with different fiber architecture, such as chopped fiber, braids, woven fabrics, and ncf. HSCL has established extensive international collaboration with industrial partners, including 3b-fiberglass, chomarat, beacon power, bosch, plastic omnium, acciona energy.
