North Thin Ply Technology announces Lloyd’s register approval for marine focussed ThinPreg 736LT

As a sister company to the North Technology Group, and as inventors of the 3Di technology for North Sails’ grand prix yacht racing sails, NTPT’s composite technology is renowned within the marine market and this latest certification confirms the company’s continued commitment to development in this sector.

The 736LT prepreg system is a versatile all-round system offering a good balance of material properties and usability.

Formulated to offer long out life (up to 8 weeks at 18-22°C) and mechanical performance, 736LT is suited to the production of large structures and can be cured at temperatures as low as 80°C.

ThinPreg 736LT UD prepregs can be supplied in a full range of weights (30gsm upwards) and in plotted multiaxial formats such as a 400g +/-45° available in widths up to 4m.

Recognising the need to provide boat builders with a full package of composite materials, NTPT also offers a compatible set of 736LT products such as prepreg peel ply, woven fabrics and adhesive films for core bonding.

Following the official factory opening in June of this year, significant new production capacity at the NTPT facility in Zory, Poland, ensures the company is well positioned to supply even the largest of new projects at competitive lead times.
