The Composite Materials Engineering (CME) Program at Winona State University (WSU) is the only undergraduate program of its kind in the United States. The program evolved from close interaction between WSU and the composites industry in the late-1980s. The program offers a B.S. degree in composite materials engineering. The Program has been developed to meet the engineering needs of the composites industry; and is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Since 1991, over 350 CME graduates have entered the composites industry ready to practice engineering at a professional level in positions that provide opportunities for rapid professional development and growth. WSU CME also provides engineering services through the Composite Materials Technology Center (COMTEC). Created to foster on-going interaction with industry and enhance their students education. COMTEC receives and successfully completes hundreds of industry based projects on annual basis.
