Vestas, Dr Srikanth Narasimalu, Technical Director (Singapore): “The JEC Conference is the best as far as composites are concerned. It is very focused and covers all sorts of topics on advanced materials, composites and related technologies. The conference gives us a way of instilling awareness in the company, which is remarkable in my opinion. There is no other conference that can replace JEC. Henkel, Rich Beck, Global Market Manager (Germany): “The future of wind blades will mean there will be more demand for durability; a 20-year lifespan is expected. Today’s adhesives might not be the most competitive at the moment, so we came up with a few ideas, one of which is a polyurethane system that needs GE approval. The industry is currently using lots of epoxy and vinylester resins and adhesives. We definitely think we can bring these customers some potential value, help them save money and improve their output. That’s the main reason why we are here today”.

TPI, Stephen Nolet, Principal Engineer (USA): “For me, it is just a pleasure to be able to educate more people to cross-pollinate ideas and trade information so that we can expand our industry. What we need is the technology and information to be disseminated in a way that more people are applying these technologies in a more robust and safe manner”.
