France Forum 2005: a broad presentation of the French composite market offering

France forum 2005: a broad presentation of the french composite market offering

The JEC Group will hold a forum devoted to composite initiatives in French regions on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 in the CAP 15 Congress Centre in Paris (fifteenth arrondissement).

THE JEC FORUM: A COMPOSITE “TOUR DE FRANCE”

Addressing French companies that wish to lead a project in composites, this forum aims not only to inform, but also to create new composite industry networks by fostering meetings between companies and research and engineering associations, technical centres, trade associations, and regional organisations.

The France Forum should also be of interest to European and other international companies abroad, including raw materials producers, processors and users seeking international opportunities or more particularly to work with the French composites market. One of its advantages will be to present the broadest possible offering from that market.

The Forum will reveal composite-related trends and initiatives in France and review development prospects for the sector. It is designed to encourage the transfer of knowledge through exchanges of experience with a large number of industrial companies and the resources established by French regions to support regional companies.

The Forum will be sponsored by JEC Composites Magazine (circulation: 20,000) and hosted by Editor-in-Chief Frédéric REUX.
Starting with a presentation of the market and its players, the day-long forum will be organised around four topics highlighting the partnerships undertaken in French regions:
- National-scale composite players, with talks from the Composites Division of French plastics processing association FFP and from French composite materials association AMAC.
- Regions that are heavily involved in local development and technical skills sharing, with talks from CAPEV, ARAMM, and CARMA,
- Composite skills centres, with presentations of know-how from the Douai Mining school, the French technical centre for the engineering industry CETIM, the plastics processing centre PPE, and COMPOSITEC.
- Exemplary company projects, with discussions of expertise in various composite applications from seven different manufacturers : Groupe Arnaud (distribution), Salomé-Rökona (textile), Pulsium (sports), Projeca (automotive), Poncin Yachts (boat building), Secoplage (construction), Altor (building/finishings).

This day of information will give priority to exchange between speakers and audience. In addition to the speeches, which are intentionally short, the programme includes five interludes to encourage meetings and exchange of experience among counterparts.
