3B-the fibreglass company will exhibit at this year’s JEC Europe 2013 and will showcasing a broad and innovative range of products for wind, thermoplastics and performance composite applications.

In partnership with Arkema, a world leader in the production of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), 3B has developed an innovative sizing technology specially designed to reinforce acrylic TP systems for structural applications. 3B and Arkema - partnering with Chomarat, a composite weaver - are launching solutions which prove interesting alternatives to existing thermoset systems.

The company’s benchmark series of high performance rovings which include SE2020, HiPer-tex™ W2020 (both recently Germanisher Lloyd approved) and W3030 will be exhibited.  Specifically designed for various resin systems such as epoxy and polyester/vinyl resin for RIM (resin infusion moulding) and prepeg processes they are principally, but not exclusively used in wind turbine applications.  Luc Peters, 3B Wind Energy Technical Leader, will deliver a presentation highlighting these new glass fibre reinforcements at the Wind Energy Forum on Wednesday, March 13th.

Thanks to 3B’s HiPer-tex™ high performance rovings, Madshus, Norway’s leading creator of winter sports equipment have designed lighter, stronger and faster skis which will be displayed on 3B’s booth and at the Innovation Showcase.

Technical project leaders and product engineers will be available on the booth to discuss these recent exciting developments and broad end-use applications.
