JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
Valencia’s new lighthouse is a good example of composites potential role in the construction sector. This is a unique project as the new lighthouse has been mainly designed with composite materials.
In this particular case, six carbon fibre several-centimetres-thick tubular profiles support a set of fibreglass floors slabs and their bracings, which surround a central tube that leads the stairs to the upper part into the lantern room, all made with composites. The lighthouse’s one and only traditional thing is the cupola, which was constructed with traditional materials.AIMPLAS has offered technical assistance to the project managers and has ensured that the building contractor met the quality plan.About AIMPLAS:AIMPLAS is The Technological Institute of Plastics located in Valencia, Spain, and appears on the Register of the Technological Centres of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
