HMS Services to specialise in Airbus widebody aircraft
Airbus and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) have completed the incorporation in Singapore of their new joint venture maintenance and overhaul company, first announced earlier this year at the Singapore Airshow.
Having received all necessary approvals from competition authorities, the new company will be named Heavy Maintenance Singapore Services Pte Ltd (HMS Services) and will begin operation in December. SIAEC holds a 65% equity stake in HMS Services with Airbus holding 35%.
The new company will provide airframe maintenance, cabin upgrade and modification services for Airbus A380, A350 and A330 aircraft to airlines in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. HMS Services will work with Airbus to be designated as the manufacturer’s Centre of Excellence for Heavy Maintenance for the A350 and A380 in the region.
SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) is a major provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in the Asia-Pacific region, with a client base of more than 80 international carriers and aerospace equipment manufacturers.
