The company acquires Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) business of Caparo Testing Technologies in the UK.
Applus+, a global testing, inspection and certification company, further strengthens its presence in the aerospace industry, with the acquisition of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) business and assets of Caparo Testing Technologies in the UK.This acquisition brings new expansion opportunities to the Applus+ Group in the aerospace sector, especially when combined with the aerospace NDT business acquired earlier this year in the USA and Canada as well as Applus+´ existing aerospace testing business.Caparo Testing Technologies is one of the few independent NDT companies specialising in the aerospace industry in the UK as well as serving some other end markets and consists of a team of over 76 professionals, 4 laboratories in the Midlands and the South of England and two more co-locations embedded within customers’ own manufacturing facilities. With over 50 years of history, the business holds all the relevant accreditations for testing in the aerospace market including those required for the North American and European markets like NADCAP, CAA EASA 145, AS 9100. Annual revenue for this year is expected to be close to 5 million GBP. The acquisition was closed today and the business will join the Applus+ Energy & Industry division.“We continue to develop NDT services beyond the Oil & Gas sector. Aeronautics allows the development of this activity in a market where the high value and critical safety of the assets requires the hi-tech testing services for which Applus+ is a global leader. We are delighted to have such a high class business join our Group and we welcome all the new people”, stated Fernando Basabe, CEO of Applus+.More information: www.applus.com
