Ashland Performance Materials, a commercial unit of Ashland Inc., is among the finalists in the Top of Mind of Brazilian Composites Industry in the categories “Polyester Resin”, “Structural Adhesives” and “Composites Industry”.
Organized by the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO), the award features the independent research work and verification of Destaque Business Research. Over four weeks, Destaque registered 2.210 votes, divided into 21 categories.
In 2011, Ashland was among the finalists only in the category “Polyester Resins”. “We have introduced the family of structural adhesives Pliogrip™ only a few months ago, and still, we managed to be positioned among the three most remembered suppliers,” says Rodrigo Oliveira, marketing and sales manager of Ashland. Oliveira also reinforces the importance for Ashland to remain among the most remembered manufacturers of polyester resin, which certainly helped the company to be in the category “Composites Industry”. “We were very pleased because the voter indicated the company that first comes to mind as a representative of this market.” Global leader in polyester and vinyl ester resins, Ashland operates a plant in Brazil since 1999. In addition to having begun to provide the structural adhesives Pliogrip™, it has expanded its portfolio this year by starting the local production of Maxguard™ premium gelcoats. The awards ceremony of the Top of Mind of Brazilian Composites Industry will take place on 11/05, in São Paulo.
