Carbon fibers influence on polybutadiene rubber thermal conductivity studied

Nanjing University of Technology (NUT) School of Materials Science and Engineering studied the influence of carbon fiber dosage on the properties of carbon fiber / butadiene rubber (BR) composites.

The results show that, with the increase of the carbon fiber dosage, the carbon fiber /BR composites MH and Mooney viscosity increased and the processing performance decreased.

 

The thermal conductivity increased significantly with the increase of the carbon fiber dosage as well as the thermal conductivity.

 

The Shore A hardness and tensile strength increased with the dosage. And the elongation at break, permanent deformation and tearing strength are all increased first and then decreased.
