CCAG new energy automobile driving composite materials application

China Changan Automotive Group (CCAG) in recent years became actively involved in the development of electric vehicles. The interests in new energy automotive are promoting the demand growth of auto market for composite material application development.

The electric vehicles development is not only driven by the environmental protection. China also hopes to reduce fuel consumption hence further to reduce dependence on imported oil. The Chinese government has set a goal and striven to achieve the 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers fuel consumption by the year 2020.


Weight reduction has become one of the most important problems for CCAG. Take the hybrid vehicle as an example it must lose weight by 30-40%. At the same time, the battery installed in the vehicle will also increase the weight so he other auto parts needed to further reduce the weight.


With the help of composite materials, more lightweight materials can be used in the production of structure. The metal door panel, front end module and tank can also to be replaced by composite materials.

The development of electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles are getting more and more popular in the market.
