China’s CPIC starts a new research and development production base

After eight months of preparation and construction, the H04 line of CPIC Changshou new materials research and development production base has been started in the Changshou district, in the megacity of Chongqing, southwest China. Yao Yuan, vice-president of CPIC, a major Chinese glass fiber manufacturer, presided the ignition ceremony.

 In his speech, he said that the investment in the new materials base is not the largest, but is key as it promotes CPIC’s internationalization, differentiation, integration strategy to take a solid step forward.

He added:

“At the same time, as a major support project for the future development of CPIC, the Changshou new materials research and development production base has now set up a new generation of ultra high modulus glass fiber, high-strength fine yarn and three-way high silicon oxygen glass fiber as well as low dielectric glass fiber, including a number of independent furnaces and supporting research and development, production units”

The leader also said that in a context of national fight against the epidemic, this ignition ceremony is of great significance. The Changshou New Materials Base Project was undertaken in 2018 and officially launched in July 2019. The project covers an area of nearly 11 hectare and represents a total investment of 420 million yuan. The plan is divided in three phases, the first phase being the start of the H04 production line.
