The successful bidder is the Chinese rolling stock manufacturer CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, which won the tender thanks to its deep understanding of the magnetic levitation technology, according to the company.

The Maglev line will adopt a new generation of medium and low speed Maglev trains developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles. The trains will use the electric magnetic levitation technology as well as the vehicle direct electric traction technology, and will have a maximum operational speed of 120 km/h. The first trains are expected to be delivered in June 2019.

In order to meet the special requirements of a tourism line, the trains use a variety of energy-saving and environmental protection technologies. By using a lightweight structure made of aluminum alloy and composite materials, the train body achieves good vibration-proof and sound-proof performances. According to the needs of a tourism line, the roofs of the trains display a blue sky and white clouds effect, while the doors and the windows are all floor-to-ceiling designed, which enable the vehicles to become veritable sightseeing trains.
