China composites civil helicopter obtained class A airworthiness certificate

Beginning of the year, AC313 helicopters were obtained Class A Airworthiness Certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Changhe Aircraft Industries Group Co, Ltd (Changhe) and AVIC Helicopter Research and Development Institute (CHRDI) are China Helicopter Research and production base and the aviation industry backbone enterprises.

Changhe and CHRDI jointly developed civil helicopter, realize the key technology and core technology breakthroughs. Their products have been widely used in the city public security, rescue, disaster relief, personnel transport, forest fire prevention, tourism and many other areas.

During "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, their Z-8 series helicopters, as the only domestic large and medium transport helicopter, rushed to the disaster area.

In the mountains and harsh weather conditions, Z-8 series helicapters accumulated 63 disaster relief flights, carrying 47.8 tons of supplies, transported 159 victims, and 359 disaster relief personnel.

Compared with foreign helicopters, China’s helicopters were the lack of performances. China didn’t have helicopters for plateau, or heavy helicopters.

Now, they developed the third generation of helicopter AC313 with a maximum takeoff weight of 13 tons. They have realized the breakthrough in composite spherical flexible rotor system, large area composite material structure key technologies.

Beginning of the year, AC313 helicopters were obtained Class A Airworthiness Certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. This Asia's largest tonnage helicopter became the world's first civil helicopters achieved Class A Airworthiness Certificate for area 4500 meters above sea level.
