China Jushi broke ground on a $300 million plant in Richland county a year-and-a-half ago. The 80,000-metric-ton fiberglass production line is expected to be put into operation late this year or early in 2019.

Polestar 1 beautifies Pebble Beach for its North American debut
Initially supposed to be a Volvo S90 Coupe, the Polestar 1 is scheduled to enter production mid-2019 at a new factory located in Chengdu, China. It’s called the Polestar Production Center and will assemble a total of 500 units per year, but output will gradually grow in the years to come.

Future of flight seen through a microscope
The research will focus on four fields: improving the toughness of composites; enhancing the electrical conductivity of carbon fiber composites; leveraging composites to give intelligent materials self-healing and other capabilities; and applying nanomaterials to develop acquisition sensors for "health monitoring" of the aircraft structure.
