JEC Europe 2015 - DSM is launching a highly innovative drinking water relining solution that is clean, efficient and sustainable, competing well with conventional dig-and-replace solutions.

The European drinking water networks built in the 1950s and 1960s are increasingly reaching the end of their functional life, so operators are taking action to guarantee their water supply networks are fit for the future.

DSM is launching a highly innovative drinking water relining solution that is clean, efficient and sustainable, competing well with conventional dig-and-replace solutions. The system is based on DSM’s Beyone™ 700-N-01 FC, a label-free, styrene-free resin derived from raw materials that are on the “positive list” for food contact, and manufactured in line with GMP. At JEC 2015, DSM will present the benefits of the new resin and highlight some of the recent successes in commercial installations.

With the increasing environmental pressure on cobalt carboxylates, customers are looking for cobalt-free resin systems that provide great end-use performance, excellent processing and are truly sustainable. DSM will also present its novel cobalt-free product line for hand lay-up applications.

The new Beyone™ 185, 170 and 177 resin series are based on vinyl ester, ortho and DCPD chemistries respectively. Different resins are available for a broad range of applications with specific levels of reactivity, and may also have low styrene emission (LSE) functionality. These new pre-accelerated product series are all ready to use, robust in processing and allow the manufacture of composite components with the right functional properties. All these cobalt-free product series are BluCure™ products.
