Fast-growing engineering company Cygnet USA has launched a new technical engineering division to provide US customers with local technical services including machinery installation and trouble-shooting.
The automation and fiber processing specialist, which is part of UK engineering firm Cygnet Group, has taken the move in response to growing sales of its machinery in the North American manufacturing market.
Here, its solutions are used to produce carbon fiber destined for the worldwide aerospace, automotive and leisure industries. “Our customers understandably want a dedicated, local technical support service that can respond quickly and in the same time zone,” explains Cygnet USA’s technical engineering manager Iain Graham, who relocated to the company’s North Carolina headquarters from the UK earlier this year to lead the new division after four years with parent company Cygnet Group.
Cygnet Group has traded in the US for over 40 years under its Texkimp brand of fiber unwinding and tensioning creels. In June 2011 it launched Cygnet USA as a commercial operation to take advantage of increasing opportunities in the US. “The move to establish a new technical arm in the US means we can now offer our North American customers everything from expert solution design and installation to spare parts and labor from our North Carolina base,” adds Iain Graham.
