With aerospace, wind energy and automotive markets leading the way, international trade organization, David H. Sutherland & Co open a new facility in Beaverton, Oregon.

“We have seen this coming for a couple of years,” said President Chris Hampton. “Our product lines have been doing quite well overseas. This move will give our customers more options with inventory management particularly as it applies to cold storage of certified advanced composites and other highly sensitive materials.”

The 19,000 square foot combined office and warehouse represents a 31% increase in overall capacity. Cold storage and handling space nearly doubles with the addition of an 8,500 cubic foot dedicated film freezer and a 12’x12’ walk-in cooler. The units come with temperature alarms for additional quality control. Other new features include a training room, reference library housing literature and specifications and on-site records retention.

“We looked at facilities in South and West Washington County and Clackamas County,” said CEO Mary Crouse, a second-generation Sutherland. “This new facility offers us significant upgrades to improve how we service our customers. We also have a priority option for three additional bay doors as this company grows.”

Operations in the new facility will commence on April 1.
