The latest addition to the company’s portfolio of high-performance core materials – Divinycell HM – brings several advantages to naval architects.

Since Diab’s beginning, the properties of the Divinycell foams have been continuously enhanced and improved. The latest addition to this product family is the Divinycell HM range, a tough core. This high-performance structural core is capable of absorbing extremely high dynamic loads such as slamming on waves, which makes it ideal for fast marine hulls.

Divinycell HM allows for ultra-tough and robust structures while reducing overall weight. Weight reduction translates directly into greater performance: speed, range or payload.

Divinycell HM is an extremely tough product, says Valerio Corniani, DIAB Global Marine Manager. It provides incredible levels of energy absorption by combining outstanding shear elongation with impressive shear strength. It has been type approved for slamming use by Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyds (DNV-GL), which means it complies with the highest requirements applicable in the marine industry.

DNV-GL is one of the world’s leading classification societies and a recognized advisor for the marine industry, continues Valerio Corniani. Achieving their type approval provides our customers with increased reassurance of the performance of our materials.
