Dilutec announces gelcoat capacity expansion plan

One of the leading Brazilian manufacturers of gelcoat, Dilutec, plans a 50% expansion in the installed capacity of the plant it operates in Senador Canedo (GO).

The investment will leave the paper in April and will allow Dilutec to produce 200 tons/month of the gelcoat Colorgel in the second half.

“Throughout 2014, we have improved our products to meet the demands of large manufacturers of pools. We also started supplying a marine gelcoat used by major shipyards around the world. Hence why, despite the economic fluctuations experienced by the country, we decided to invest in capacity expansion,” said Evair Tozzi, director of Dilutec.

Dilutec’s gelcoat for pools – in blue and white colors – has gone through several tests, including the accelerated weathering test. The evaluation was undertaken by Newtech, a company accredited by National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO). “With the reports of approval, we qualified to supply to the main manufacturers of pools,” said Tozzi.

As for the marine market, Dilutec’s main focus is Colorgel Marine, a product based on an internationally acclaimed technology – consumed by the largest manufacturers of boats from US and Europe. “Major shipyards that have opened branches in Brazil want to keep here the same quality standards of the raw materials they process out there, and the gelcoat is certainly one of them.”

Founded in 1995, Dilutec also manufactures thinner in Piracicaba (SP) and operates as a distributor of raw materials to the composites industry.
