JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
CCP Composites launched its styrene free product range during the last JEC show in Paris, Encore Prime, a specific unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester range of resins, optimized in terms of odor and VOC reduction.
They are fully compliant with requirements of different market sectors, such as CIPP or SMC.Low odor is an important requirement for consumers especially when considering interior or enclosed space applications. In addition, issues on limitation of exposure to styrene during part processing, new styrene regulation and classification led to the development of totally styrene free solutions.Encore® Prime is mainly targeted at high temperature molding and more specifically dedicated to SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) and CIPP (Cured in Place Pipe) composites applications: commercially available resins for SMC have shown VOC emission reductions of an order of 2,5 and BTXES emission by -76%, in conformance to OEM odor test requirements. UPR Norsodyne® with low profile additives norsolook are fully available with similar mechanical properties, and shrinkage control compared to standard UPR.For cured in place pipe, CCP Composites proposes two grades of resin with no odor for the installer or public and better conditions in the workshop during the liner impregnation: a UPR Norsodyne® and a VER Epovia® Optimum for thickenable or non thickenable requirement and able to cure with UV, hot water or steam curing system. When reduced VOC and odor are required, or when new styrene regulation and labeling is an issue, CCP Composites customers now have a total solution for styrene free products with the Encore® Prime range.
