JEC Group have brought together the international community of composites leaders and executives in our Composites Circle as an unique networking opportunity to meet with both peers and future partners.
A pioneer and world-leading provider in virtual prototyping software and services, present in over 40 countries worldwide, ESI Group has joined the UK’s National Composites Centre as a Tier 2 Member.
Based in Bristol, the National Composites Centre (NCC) brings together dynamic companies and enterprising academics to develop new technologies for the design and manufacture of high-end composite products. A cornerstone of the UK composites strategy, aimed at raising the UK’s industrial competitiveness in the field of composites manufacturing, it is also an important strategic partner for ESI, seeking to strengthen its on-going R&D programme for virtual prototyping in the composites domain. 30 major industrial players in the composites sector currently make up the rapidly expanding membership of the NCC. UK Country Manager, Maurice Linscott, says “We are honoured to join the NCC and be part of the national strategy to support the British economy; strengthening its offer for the manufacturing of composites. Partnerships and co-creation have always been at the heart of ESI’s vision and a reason of our success. We are therefore looking forward to playing a leading role in connecting academic research with industrial needs and actively supporting the simulation activities across the NCC.”Working closely with leading Universities and Industrials worldwide, ESI has developed an integrated solution dedicated to composites simulation suite allowing the analysis and optimisation of each, individual, composites manufacturing operation, taking account of coupling effects; transferring material history (change in fibre orientations, curing degree, temperature distribution, etc.) from one operation to the next. This innovative solution allows the prevention of manufacturing defects, substantial cost reduction for product development, and shorter lead times.Tom Hitchings, Business Development Director of National Composites Centre, adds: “We are delighted to welcome ESI as a member of the NCC. ESI has a 40 year history of expertise in numerical simulation, and an expert knowledge in simulating the manufacture of composites. Their engagement at the centre will enhance the NCC’s simulation offering to our members which can only improve the competitiveness of the composites manufacturing industry in the UK”.More information: www.esi-group.com
