Following a 20% sales growth in 2010, JEC 2011 will see FORMAX, a leading global manufacturer of lightweight carbon and specialist composite reinforcements, announce further investments as well as showcase its technology leading portfolio of lightweight Carbon, Glass and Aramid reinforcements.

20% Sales Growth in 2010

Whilst 2010 was a difficult year in many composite markets, Formax are expected to confirm a 20% sales growth and increased profitability with over 6 million sqm of Formax material having been manufactured and shipped worldwide to service the wind energy, marine, automotive, sports and industrial sectors.

New Machinery

Due to this rapid growth, Formax will announce an investment of £1.5million in new, technology leading, machinery for 2011.

Karl Mayer’s latest carbon multiaxial machine will be added to the existing Formax facility in April. This specially developed Carbon Malitronic® has a variable width from 1000mm to 1600mm, and will allow Formax to offer unique new fabric constructions such as lightweight 0/90 fabrics, ply orientations from +/-30º, and balanced biaxial fabrics (+/-/+) from 200gsm that ensure truly symmetrical fabrics. Another addition to the Formax portfolio will be a laminating line that combines surface veils with existing fabrics for applications that require demanding surface finishes such as Class A surfaces for automotive panels.

New Look Formax

After celebrating its 10th Year anniversary at JEC last year, and to represent the recent growth, Formax will unveil a new updated brand image with a new look logo, new company values and a newly enhanced interactive website that can be found at www.formax.co.uk.

Product Showcase at Stand P39

On a new central stand, Formax will showcase its portfolio of advanced reinforcements including: lightweight carbon fabrics for automotive and industrial applications; specialised glass fabrics for the marine and industrial sectors and heavyweight glass fabrics for infusion processes.
