French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has visited the Airbus A320 Family Final Assembly Line China (FALC), located in the Eastern Chinese city of Tianjin. The PM visited the main hangar of the FALC, where the aircraft structure is assembled.
Inaugurated in 2008, the FALC is a joint venture between Airbus, the Tianjin Free Trade Zone and Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). It is the first Airbus final assembly line outside Europe and the third A320 final assembly line overall. The FALC assembles A320 and A319 of the Airbus A320 Family. More than 200 Airbus A320s and A319s assembled at the FALC have been delivered to Chinese and Asian airlines.In another hangar of the Airbus (Tianjin) site, the PM took part in two activities symbolizing the partnership in aviation between France and China. The PM presented the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur to Mr. Lan Xinguo, former Chairman of Sichuan Airlines, the largest all Airbus fleet operator in China, and oversaw the graduation ceremony for 80 students of the Sino-European Institute of Aviation Engineering.In addition to visiting the FALC, the PM will also go to Beijing and Shanghai.
