The company is expanding its ability to deliver world class engineering solutions and support for its global customers in both India and the US.

Its advanced engineering centre in Bangalore, India, which opened last year, has seen its workforce grow by 45% in the last 12 months. The centre is focused on creating composite and metallic aero-engine and airframe solutions for civil aircraft programmes worldwide and also now provides support for GKN Driveline. The centre is expected to grow by a further 25% in the next year to exceed a workforce of over 100 engineers.

Meanwhile in Alabama, US, construction of an engineering design centre at its Tallassee facility has started. The 10,800 square foot facility will initially focus on composite technologies for aerostructures. Design and analysis engineers will work closely with industry partners such as Bell Helicopter, HondaJet and Airbus.

Both developments help extend GKN Aerospace’s worldwide engineering design, analysis and production abilities, adding highly skilled individuals to its 1,000 plus global engineering strength and supporting its strategy to remain a leader in the aerospace market of the future.
