The company has recently appointed Lawrence Kok, who joins the company in the newly created role of Regional Manager-South East Asia, covering: Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.Mr Kok, who will be based in Kuala Lumpur, is a chemistry graduate with over 20 years technical sales and business development experience in the region; he is fluent in English, Malay, Indonesian, Cantonese and Mandarin. His appointment is part of an ongoing international growth strategy by GMS Composites, targeting key regions where it sees a growing demand for high performance composites in niche markets which use prepreg materials, such as: aerospace and defence, automotive, motorsports, and high end sporting goods. From its main production and warehouse facilities in Melbourne, Australia, the company is well placed to supply customers in SE Asia and beyond, using specialist air and sea freight logistics partners equipped to handle and transport prepregs.GMS Composites has particular expertise in developing and supplying ‘bespoke’ composite prepreg tooling and moulding solutions, working closely with its customers to formulate and develop custom prepreg systems, engineered to meet specific application needs and performance requirements. This bespoke composite prepreg service has proved of particular benefit to aerospace, defence and motorsport customers needing prototypes and short run development specialty prepegs systems; this service has accelerated a number of new product development programmes, helping OEMs to bring new products to market more quickly. All standard and custom prepreg product development is done using in-house technical expertise.
