Goldwind develop 70MW high altitude wind field with mainstream in Chile

Xinjiang Goldwind Corporation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Mainstream Renewable Power a global well-known new energy developer.

According to the agreement, Goldwind will join Mainstream Renewable Power to develop the first phase of a wind farm project located in Ckani, north of Chile, each holding 50% stake. Goldwind will also supply the project with 47 special customized high altitude series direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine GW87 / 1500.

The first phase of Ckani wind farm project has a total capacity of approximately 70MW, located in Antofagasta area, north of Chile, which is expected to start construction before the end of 2012. The project is Goldwind the second time cooperation with Mainstream in the Chile market following the winning of the Negrete wind farm project at the end of 2011, also the third cooperation for both in the global market.

To date, Goldwind projects capacity has more than 300MW in overseas market, projects footprint distributed across six continents. Goldwind relies on its strong research and development strength, its "customized" unit in accordance of different operating environment which attracts the domestic and foreign markets attention. So far, Goldwind models used in the overseas projects including segmentation unit products of low temperature, high temperature, high altitude, and low wind speed.
