H-PreC deep-drawing: next-generation composites

JEC World 2016 - H-PreC launches next-generation composites with its innovative process, H-PreC deep-drawing. 

This new patented process allows the mass production of flat or drawn thermoset composite parts and the manufacture of high-quality composite parts meeting all the requirements of an industrial product: traceability, reproducibility, and standardization of cost and lead-time. It also means the end of post-treatment as leathers, fabrics, metal sheets and 3M decorative films are inserted directly during the manufacture. The H-PreC deep-drawing process is a technological breakthrough that normalizes and simplifies composite manufacturing. It distinguishes itself from other processes by the mechanization of manufacturing, including the deep-drawing operation and surface finish insertion, as well as cheaper moulds for mass production, which are faster to manufacture and without thermal inertia. All the manufacturing parameters are controlled and recorded. Surface finishes and technical inserts can be integrated directly into the composite. H-PreC composite parts are intended for industries such as automotive and aeronautics.

They are available in three ranges:

  • Raw: A raw composite material without porosity and with an optimum fibre/resin ratio;
  • Sandwich: A foam core is inserted in the composite for a product with optimized weight and maximum stiffness;
  • Surface finished: leathers, fabrics, metal sheets and 3M decorative films are inserted directly during the manufacture of composite parts.

The current maximum size of parts is 1400x1400/1400x2900mm.
